Gombe NSCDC beefs up security ahead of Christmas, New Year

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Gombe State Command has  deployed 780 personnel for security arrangement and crime prevention.

The State Commandant, Muhammad Bello Muazu made this known through a Press Release signed by the Public Relations Officer, Buhari Saad and made available to newsmen.

In accordance with the directive from the State Commandant, all the Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Tactical Commanders from specialized units have been mobilized. 

These units include the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) team.

According to Muazu, the deployment will ensure adequate personnel are deployed at all vulnerable points across the state and also to safeguard all places of worships, critical infrastructures, designated markets, motor parks including recreational centres, adding that the NSCDC personnel are tasked with providing comprehensive security coverage before, during, and after the yuletide.

Muazu appealed to the general public for moderation in their celebrations.

The statement emphasizes that while maintaining a polite and civil approach, the NSCDC Gombe State Command, is resolute in ensuring the security and safety of lives and property.
