Gombe State Water Board Reaffirms Commitment to Providing Clean Drinking Water to Residents

The Gombe State government has reiterated its commitment to providing its citizens with accessible and portable drinking water across every corner of the state.  

This commitment was affirmed by the Acting General Manager of Gombe State Water Board, Engr. Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad during a briefing with journalists in his office on the measures being taken by the government to resolve the issue of water scarcity in the state.

Muhammad highlighted the significant progress in the ongoing contract for the rehabilitation, expansion, and upgrade of the Gombe regional water supply, noting that testing has commenced on some of the newly installed pipelines, especially in federal low-cost and Tumfure areas.

The Acting General Manager urged residents of the state to take responsibility for and maintain the vital water supply infrastructure for which the government has invested substantial resources, as they are meant to enhance the quality of  lives by ensuring access to clean drinking water. 

He said, " I urge residents of our state to take responsibility for and maintain the vital water supply infrastructure. The government has invested substantial resources in these projects, and they are meant to enhance the quality of our lives by ensuring access to clean drinking water."

He also encouraged the people of Gombe  to regularly settle their water bills to support the government's efforts, given the substantial financial commitment required to maintain water supply services.

Addressing the concerns of some opposition figures who lack confidence in the ongoing water supply improvement project, Muhammed assured the people of Gombe State that significant improvements in water supply throughout the state are imminent.
