In a recent development aimed at strengthening youth representation and media engagement, Western Nigeria Publica’s Content Writer, Fazeezah Oyindamola Olu-lawal, has been appointed as the Personal Assistant on Media to the Youth Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District in the Nigerian Youth Parliament.
Faeezah is a law student currently in her final year at the prestigious Fountain University, Osogbo. Though a Law student, she has always had a flair for the media and all it has to offer. Growing up, she has had the opportunity of representing and winning different speech contests which peaked her interest in public speaking, writing and the media.
Her professional journey started with being the Head of Human Resources and External Affairs for the Southwestern Law Students Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN) in 2021. In 2022, after delivering an impromptu speech flawlessly, her eloquence and poise impressed the judges which led to her being appointed as the General Secretary of the Nigerian Ahmadi Muslim Women Students Association(AMWSA) through the years 2022 to 2024. She further proceeded to being the General Secretary of the Law Student Society, Fountain University, for the session 2023/2024. She is also a mental health advocate who continually uses her platforms to advocate for mental health positivity amongst youths and students.
Driven by her passion for media, Faeezah has authored several written works and approximately ten poems, two of which have been published. She is currently working on publishing her first book.
Her journey as a speaker began at the age of 16 when she started delivering talks to secondary and primary school students in Osogbo. By the age of 18, she took on a significant role at the annual convention of the Ahmadi Muslim Women Students Association, where she successfully anchored a symposium and delivered a talk on mental health. This achievement marked her first professional public speaking experience, making her the youngest individual to successfully handle such a major responsibility.
Pursuing her interest in media, Faeezah joined the Western Nigeria Publica (WNP) in 2022 as a content writer and has been learning up close what it means to be a media personnel. Enjoying the work done at the WNP, striving to delve deeper into the media world and leveraging on her experience with the WNP, she recently got an appointment, on recommendation, to be the Personal Assistant on Media under the office of the Youth Senator representing the Osun West Senatorial District for the Nigerian Youth Parliament. This being her first professional appointment as a media personnel.
