In a bid to bring about a transformative shift in the education landscape, Coachfrica, an innovative Edtech social enterprise that provides personalized coaching to teachers, through one-on-one coaching support to develop better leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, has officially launched a groundbreaking Teacher Training Program.
The initiative, which is set to revolutionize education by empowering educators with innovative tools and methodologies, brought together educators from ten carefully selected public primary schools teachers in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The organization unveiled the program at the onboarding program for the teachers in Abeokuta recently. The event was attended by prominent educators, policymakers, and stakeholders in the field of education in the state.
In his opening remarks, the CEO of Coachfrika, Iyiola Afeez, said the primary objective of the initiative is to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge necessary to adapt to the evolving educational needs of the 21st century.
Recognizing the rapid changes in technology, teaching methods, and the diverse needs of students, the organization aims to provide teachers with the necessary support to excel in their roles.
He said, " As the CEO of Coachfrika, I am profoundly moved and honored to be in your presence. Each one of you represents a beacon of hope that lights our path, an embodiment of the unwavering dedication that drives our mission, and a testament to the profound change that is attainable when we work together.
"This isn't just a job for us; it's a vocation. It's a belief in the transformative magic of education. It's a promise to ensure that every teacher, everywhere in the world, is equipped with the support and resources necessary to create meaningful change."
Afeez noted that the organization focuses on empowering educators and revolutionizing education across Africa, adding that the onboarding programme is a testament to transforming lives and changing the narratives in the educational space.
"At Coachfrika, we are not just an organization; we are a family - a family dedicated to empowering educators, revolutionizing education, and, in doing so, transforming lives. Today, we open our arms to embrace you into this family, a family that ardently believes in your potential to ignite young minds and shape the leaders of tomorrow," the CEO said.
He emphasized the importance of investing in teacher development as a means to enhance the overall quality of education. "I want to remind you that your role as educators is pivotal. You are the architects of the future, the sculptors of dreams, and the guides to greatness. As you step forward into this journey with Coachfrika, remember that you have a whole team standing firmly behind you, ready to support, elevate, and cheer for your achievements," he added.
Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, the Executive Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, in his goodwill message congratulated the teachers who have been selected to participate in the coaching program organized by Coachfrica.
Majekodunmi said, "to our teachers coming on board as the first cohort of CoachFrika, I want to congratulate you for your selection among thousands of other teachers in the state. You have been carefully selected because of your potential to make a significant impact on the lives of our learners."
He charged the teachers to embrace the opportunity, work diligently, and remember they are now part of a community committed to educational excellence.
The SUBEB Chairman extended his appreciation to the organization for their partnership and passion for teacher development in ensuring that teachers in the state receive the needed support and training to positively impact their learners.

Also speaking, Mr. Ejiofor Arinze, the Head of Client Experience at 1 Million Teacher commended Coachfrika's initiative in their quest to empower teachers. He emphasized that their partnership would ensure teachers receive proper training and the necessary tools to enhance their performance.
One of the participants, Mrs. David Adewunmi Korede noted that the initiative will equip teachers with basic skills to tackle the current decline in the quality of education across the state and the country at large.
She commended the organization and called for more of such capacity building programs.
The pioneer participants are: Olanipekun Falilat Abosede and Okunlola Esther Feyisara from O.L.G Primary School Itesi-Ajegunle; Olaleye Julianah Olabisi and Falemara Oluwatoyin Ruth, from Methodist Primary School Odeda; Obadina Oyewumi Oyedela and Ohiku Christiana from African Church Primary school Rogunrogun; Akinhanmi Oluyomi addbowale and David Adewunmi korede from St. Saviour Primary school olugbo; Hassan Akinkunmi Qadri and Owolaye Anthony Bamidele from Community Primary school Iwo-Ali, respectively.
