The Ogun State chapter of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) will host its second edition of the Leadership Summit on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Telemedicine Hall, Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi Aba, Abeokuta.
The event with the theme: "Youth Leadership in the Digital Age: Navigating Opportunities and Challenges," would bring together young leaders, professionals, and change-makers from across Ogun State and beyond to explore the evolving role of leadership in a rapidly digitizing world.
In a Press statement, which was made available to Western Nigeria Publica, the Convener of the Summit, Tobiloba Sunday, emphasized the importance of youth leadership, preparing them to thrive in the digital age. "As the world continues to evolve, it is neccessary that we equip our youth with the leadership skills and technology to navigate both the opportunities and challenges of this era,” Tobiloba said.
Through this Summit, young people from across the country will gather to learn from industry experts in the society, and network with other innovative minds.
During the summit, there will be Keynote speeches from reputable global leaders, Panel discussions, Leadership sessions, Competitions, Award presentations, Networking opportunities, among others.
The team has brought together a wealth of speakers and they include Abiola Odetola, SA to Ogun State Governor on Youth Development; Samson Odegbami, Business Development Expert; Olukoye Morenikeji, Youth Development Advocate; Adebola Solate, Group Managing Director, M19 Image Limited;Ayooluwa Ogunsola, Vice President, Eco Diversified International; Opeyemi Oluwadare, Students to Changemakers;Victor Adeleye, Founder, Grazac; Dayo Niyi-Idowu, Convener, African Model United Nations; Grace Oluwalola, COO, GFA Technologies; Feyikemi Oriyomi, Director, Bloomseed Elementary School; Abidemi Adeyemi, Assistant Director Admin/Head of Human Resource, OPIC, among other notable Nigerians.
YALI, launched by former U.S. President Barack Obama in 2010, has been at the forefront of fostering young leadership across Africa. The Ogun State chapter continues to play a significant role in empowering youth through mentorship, leadership, capacity building, and advocacy.
