FUO signs MoU with Oyo state-based Polytechnic

As part of her effort towards delivering on her mandate of producing competent and resourceful graduates with a high moral standard, Fountain University has signed a memorandum of understanding(MoU) with Novelty Polytechnic, Kishi, Oyo State.

In a Press Release signed by the University's Information Officer, Taoheed Alimi, said the memorandum of understanding established a partnership that opened the window for students of Novelty Polytechnic to pursue their Degree program after the completion of their ND program at their school.

In a short ceremony that heralded the signing of the MOU, the Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Prof. Amidu O. Sanni alongside other principal officers of the school on Wednesday, received at the Senate Chamber of Fountain University, a delegation led by the Rector of Novelty Polytechnic, Alhaji Ibrahim Olayinka.

Prof. Sanni in his welcome address extolled the virtues of the founder of Novelty Polytechnic, Dr. AbdulGaniyu Gbolagade, whom he described as a close friend. In his word, he said, "Dr. Gbolagade is a philanthropist, community builder, and an educator whose zeal towards nation-building has been displayed severally since we met some many years ago".

While providing a brief about the huge prospects from which Novelty Polytechnic can benefit through the partnership, Prof. Sanni spotlighted the unique selling points of Fountain University to include competent and dedicated teachers, smooth and uninterrupted academic calendar, reasonable school fees which can also be paid in three installments, good accommodation, opportunity for students to complete their study abroad through an existing partnership with international institutions among others.

The Vice-Chancellor also talked about the effort of the University management in running an all-inclusive educational system. "Away from what we teach in class, there is a partnership between Fountain University and Osogbo Industrial Development Centre to ensure that our students are equipped with requisite skills that can make them employable graduates. And as we speak now, our students are also participating in the ongoing Speaker's cup context which demonstrates that we give recognition to extracurricular activities", he said.

Reacting, the Rector of Novelty Polytechnic, Alhaji Olayinka thanked Prof. Sanni as well as the management of Fountain University for the gesture extended to their institution being the first Polytechnic to enjoy such partnership.

While also expressing his appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for acknowledging the good work of their proprietor, Alh. Olayinka assured the management of not falling short of expectations while promising that students of their school will be proud to further their studies at Fountain University.

The highlight of the event included a tour around Fountain University's facility.
