OPINION: How strong Teacher relationship enhance Student Engagement and a Better School Environment

It's beginning of another academic session and I welcome you all to another learning period. I hope you have learnt in another dimension during your holiday because learning isn't limited to the four walls of the classroom.
As schools resume for another session, there is a need to know that your school is a friendly community where you consider the school administrators, teachers, parents and fellow students to be good friends.
Teachers are good friends because they are with you to love and support you, for who you are is really important for your happiness. Your teachers are with you to facilitate learning and for your good wellbeing.
Across several recent studies, researchers have found that teachers who cultivate empathy for and with their students are able to manage students’ behavior and academic engagement better.
It is to note that teachers value integrity and piosses high level of self esteem. When students find learning difficult, they are always ready to listen and ensure students attain excellence in their educational pursuit.
Beyond academic sucess, teachers are enjoined to know their students, as it improves classroom behavior management. Underserved students whose teachers work with them as a mentor are more likely to develop socially appropriate behavior.
Students should also know that friends will come and go no matter how long friendship lasts but the memorable moments will be remembered for life. As a student, do not see correction as something else, don't make enemies in the classroom because no one is met by accident. The school community's acceptance of you for who you are is a great sacrifice of friendship in which you are expected to reciprocate by extending the hand of friendship to foster learning and progress of the school.
Remember, a good friend walks the talk and shows that they care by actions, while your teachers remain a good friend and do their best to make learning easy,it's your responsibility to prove to your teacher you are ready to learn and do everything in your capacity to attach importance to the effort of the teacher.
However, the school is not meant to hurt your feelings nor judge but evaluate to make sure learning is taking place, be kind and respectful to your teachers and school authority to enjoy the companion school created with your friends.
