Cleric preaches tolerance, peaceful co-existence in Western Nigeria

Islamic Scholar and Motivational Speaker, Sheikh Ibrahim Salmon has urge Muslims across Western Nigeria to embrace and promote religious harmony, tolerance and peaceful co-existence.

He gave the charge recently at the 16th Year Anniversary/Award Presentation of Nasrul-llahi-Il-Fathi(NASFAT), society of Nigeria, Afowowa/Jagunna/Itori Branch, Ewekoro Local Government, Ogun State.

While speaking on the lecture entitled: ‘Da’Wah in Islam: The Gains and the Pains,' said Muslims irrespective of the tribe, should tolerate with others in other to make peace reign in the country, most especially in the South Western Nigeria.

He noted that, preaching Islam to people should be done in accordance with the Islamic jurisprudence. Highlighting how Yoruba's can co'exist peacefully with other tribes, he said tolerance and exceptional character are the factors that brings peace in the society.

“Attaining greater heights as a nation would continue eluding the country if citizens fail to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and sacrifice for one another. It is in the atmosphere of peace that we would have progress as a nation, ” he said.

Speaking on the importance of Da'wah, the scholar charged Religious Leaders in the region to call people to Islam with wisdom and knowledge, adding that when people understands what the religion stands for and the need to tolerate one another, then the region can live in peaceful co-existence.
