As part of measures to promote quality education for students in Ogun State, the youth wing of Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society(NASFAT), Ogun Zone 1, recently distributed free education materials to secondary school students across the state.

Olaide Ayinde, the NAFAT Youth Wing Ogun Zone 1 Coordinator, said the gesture became necessary to support and contribute to the education of the younger generation of youths to promote peace in society.

According to him, the donations of books was part of the society’s contribution to assist students in this period of economic hardship.

He revealed that the writing materials would help and assist parents and children who were not financially stable to purchase necessary writing materials.

“The leadership of the youth wing recognises the necessity of distributing notebooks to students in the state. The effect of fuel subsidy and economic hardship has affected parents, some of the parents can’t afford a notebook, hence the reason we have distributed books to the students.”

The Coordinator said  250 students received 10 notebooks each  across five schools in 4 local governments in Ogun State.

The youth wing also gave out 10  Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms to students in the state to enable them further their education.

Olaide described this gesture as key to development for students, adding that it is a starting point to helping those who are financially constrained to further their academic pursuit in a tertiary institution.

“Youths contribute to the community. When you develop them, you are building a community, as members of NASFAT, this is our contribution to humanity,” he added.
