Police Unveils Empowerment Drive for Repentant ‘Kalare Boys’ in Gombe

In a significant move towards fostering peace and youth empowerment, the Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Hayatu Usman, in conjunction with the Thrive Trek Entrepreneurship Centre, unveiled an Empowerment Programme tailored for repentant Kalare Boys. 

The initiative, launched amidst a vibrant ceremony at the Gombe State Police Command Headquarters, signifies a pivotal step in the state's journey towards sustainable peace and development.

Formerly known for dreaded violence and political thugs in Gombe State, have been listed for empowerment after they have been rehabilitated to have a new life and be useful to society.  

Understanding the imperative of providing viable alternatives to a life of crime, Commissioner Usman, alongside key stakeholders, has crafted a comprehensive programme aimed at addressing the unique needs of these individuals.

The opening ceremony, graced by senior government officials and religious leaders, underscored the significance of rehabilitation and reintegration in fostering a safer and more prosperous society.

Usman emphasized the pivotal role of education, vocational training, and mentorship in equipping the Kalare Boys with the requisite skills and opportunities for constructive engagement.

Expressing gratitude to all partners and stakeholders involved in the programme's development and implementation, Commissioner Usman reiterated the importance of collective action in tackling the root causes of youth involvement in criminal activities. 

He highlighted the imperative of collaborative efforts in promoting dialogue, understanding, and sustainable peace within communities.
