It is no longer news that the 2023 general election is approaching and it has continued to gain momentum. This announcement was made known to the general public through the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the person of Mahmood Yakubu while addressing the press during a media briefing that took place in Abuja.

On this day, stated to be February 18, 2023, the president and vice president will be voted in along with some other officials such as the Senators and members of the House of Representatives. These individuals of course are going to be our leaders for the next four years. The current state of the country shows that  there is a need for Nigerians to sit up and carefully decide those that would be at the helm of affairs, come 2023.  It’s a good time to be alive and active in our civic roles in the election process.

Nigeria is a country that is always looking out for the eradication of corruption and poverty, good governance, provision of adequate basic and social amenities, for the utility of her citizens. But the question is, have any of the leaders achieved this daylight dream of ours?  Insecurities, terrorism, kidnapping, money ritual, and every other challenge faced by Nigerians are still yet to be eradicated. That’s just a brief reminder to us all.

Now, the time has come again to choose our leader for the next four years and beyond. Not just that, but Nigerians should be involved in the process of electing new leaders that are capable of effecting true change to move the country forward.

If we choose well, we enjoy those years, if we choose wrongly, we plainly suffer for the next four years. Let's choose our “choice”. It’s high time every one of us gets our Permanent Voter’s Card which gives us the right to vote during the election. The PVC is a “must-have” for every Nigerian Youth that has reached the age of 18 and above. It makes them registered voters and enables them to exercise their civic right to vote in the General elections.

Before you can be entitled to the Permanent Voters Card, you must be:

  • A Nigerian who is at least 18 years of age and has never registered to vote.
  •  An already registered voter that wants to change their polling unit.
  • An already registered voter who wants to correct some information like name and date of birth on their previous voter’s car.
  •  A registered voter who’s facing accreditation problems in previous elections.
  •  A registered voter who lost or damaged his/her voter’s card.

On this note, it is highly recommended that we get up now and get registered for our Permanent Voter’s Card which would be the ticket we’d present to gain access to voting in the forthcoming elections.
