In an effort to inspire and empower the next generation, the Nigerian Youth Parliament representatives from Osun West Senatorial District, led by Sen. Owolabi Daud, embarked on a three-day secondary school tour across various communities in the district which started on the 14th of May to the 16th of May, 2025.
The impactful outreach saw visits to five secondary schools, namely: Baptist High School, Iwo; Oluponna Community High School; Anwar-ul-Islam Grammar School, Iwo; Luther King’s College, Ile-Igbo; and Ilupeju Community Grammar School, Ilemowu. During the visits, the delegation engaged with students in an interactive sensitization program, encouraging them to uphold positive values, focus on their education, and become responsible citizens.
The outreach was made possible with support from several prominent individuals such as the Commissioner for Federal Affairs, Hon.(Mrs) Adenike Adeleke, the owner of the Achiever Foundation, the CEO of Araim Global, the Ogun State Caucus Leader, amongst others, who all share a common goal of investing in the future of Nigerian youth.
As part of their commitment to educational support, the team distributed over 300 notebooks to students across the schools. The gesture was warmly received by school management and students alike, who expressed deep appreciation for the timely intervention.
Speaking during the tour, Sen. Owolabi Daud emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of the youth and emphasized on the Parliament’s dedication to youth development at the grassroots level. He urged the students to remain diligent in their studies, stay away from social vices, and take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them.
This initiative is a significant step towards bridging the gap between the leaders and young people, fostering mentorship, and promoting civic responsibility among secondary school students in Osun West Senatorial District and Nigeria as a whole.
