Gombe State Government has reiterated its unwavering commitment to the well-being of civil servants for effective service delivery.

The Commissioner Ministry of Water, Environment, and Forest Resources, Mohammed Saidu Fawu, made this known during a retirement send-off for Ten (10) staff organized by the Fishery Department at the Ministry.

Mohammed  noted that under the leadership of Governor Inuwa Yahya, the state government has excelled in timely payment of workers' pensions and gratuities, noting that retired workers are promptly enrolled in the payment system, unlike in some other states.

The commissioner congratulated the new retirees for completing thirty-five years of service with the State Government successfully, acknowledging that not everyone has the opportunity to reach retirement age due to unfortunate circumstances like death or dismissal.

He also charged current public servants to work hard with honesty and sincerity and to start building a good life for themselves after retirement to avoid unnecessary stress.

In his remarks, the newly appointed Director of the Fisheries Department, Micah Wayas Awak explained that his department organized this tremendous send-forth reception to congratulate their retired staff and honor them with special gifts as a token of appreciation for the courage they have shown over the years in serving Gombe State to the best of their abilities.

Earlier speaking on behalf of the new retirees, the outgoing director of Fisheries, Reverend David Gellengu Jidda, expressed joy and gratitude for the farewell reception and gifts organized under Commissioner Mohammed Sa'idu Fawu's leadership.

He equally thanked the Gombe State Government for the opportunity to serve for thirty-five years, highlighting the timely payment of salaries throughout their service.

The event featured the presentation of gifts to the retirees, goodwill messages, and photograph sessions.
