Ewekoro residents seek government intervention in bad roads

Residents of the Ewekoro Community have called on the Ogun State and Federal Government, respectively  to rehabilitate the Abeokuta/Lagos Expressway in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state, which are in urgent need of attention.

The residents, while lamenting the difficulties of daily commuting, said the roads require urgent attention as it is due for rehabilitation.

One of the residents living in Itori, Ewekoro axis lamented the continued breakdown of the road, which he said many vehicles had break down on the road.

Western Nigeria Publica(WNP) gathered that roads from Itori to Papalanto were in bad conditions and required urgent attention, with the residents lamenting the abandoning of the road by government which has been there for months.

A resident in the area, Mojeed Adelakun, said government presence is needed to support the efforts of the residents by fixing the roads, whose current state was making life unbearable for the users, and also to prepare ahead of the raison season, the government should act swiftly.

He stated, “some individuals, groups have been making efforts. Many a time the roads have been graded but we find out that they are not working, that is why we are calling on the government to come to our aid.”

According to WNP investigation, the road from Itori to Ewekoro are riddled with portholes.  This has created a fertile ground for accidents and regular breakdown of vehicles.
