The department of Mass Communication, Fountain University, Osogbo in collaboration with Impeccable Events are set to host a strategic advertising campaign themed: “Faithful Finance: Building Wealth the Halal Way with Cowrywise.”
The Pitch Competition which will be held on Wednesday 21st of May, 2025 at the University’s Eti-Osa Lecture Theater, is part of the Advertising Planning and Strategies (MCM 312) course which is aimed at raising awareness about Cowrywise’s Halal investment products among Nigerian Muslim youth.
Cowrywise, a leading Nigerian fintech platform, offers accessible savings and investment solutions designed to help individuals grow wealth ethically, especially through its Halal investment plans. These plans comply fully with Islamic financial principles by excluding interest (riba), gambling (maysir), and unethical business practices.
With Nigeria boasting one of the largest Muslim populations in Africa, and a growing youthful demographic eager to manage their finances responsibly, the students will identify a critical gap: many young Muslims lack awareness or confidence in Sharia-compliant financial options. The Faithful Finance campaign aims to bridge this divide by delivering clear, culturally sensitive, and relatable messages about ethical investing.
The campaign targets Muslim university and polytechnic students aged 18 to 30, leveraging social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, WhatsApp, and YouTube.
It employs influencer marketing, peer referrals, mosque and campus activations, and engaging content series like “Halal Finance 101” and “Ask an Imam with Financial Experts” to educate and encourage app downloads and investments.
As ethical finance continues to grow in demand, initiatives like Halal Finance could play a vital role in encouraging Nigerian Muslim youths to take control of their financial futures while staying true to their faith.
